Double Vision
There is this feeling
of nervousness
coursing throughout my veins
pumping insecurities into my body,
filling my head with lies.
Stepping over puddles
of melted snow, I questioned if it was worth getting my shoes muddy to
come here, in hopes of discovering a
heavenly place only your essence
can offer me.
To find my answer I must
"Inhale", said they in unison
from a bottle overflowing with future possibilities and adventures.
Suddenly, I burst into
a
thousand showers of breath,
high with opportunity.
Lying in a cold, unbelieving
cell
paralyzed by doubt,
I longed to reach above and
touch that which faith secures.
Taking eternity by the throat,
I released a feeling
of tranquility
that flooded my system,
injected joy into my heart,
and replaced my skeptic thoughts
with fantasies.
Feeling so small beneath
those seemingly endless trees,
I felt like your world
could swallow me
whole.
It only took minutes
to realize
that what he claimed
was true.
